According to the World Bank, major industrialized nations’ contractionary monetary policies will increase the likelihood of a worldwide recession. The likelihood of a U.S. recession, according to Goldman Sachs economists, is far lower, at 35%. As inflation falls and unemployment barely changes, the country will “stick a soft landing.” As other big economies are shaken by issues more severe than those in the US, positive growth may occur.
