Elon Musk and Bill Gates don’t exactly agree on everything.

The Microsoft billionaire and the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX have never appeared to have a particularly cordial relationship, but over the past few years, things have heated up as the two have openly spat about everything from electric cars to the pandemic. Even though their public conflict might not always be serious, they do seem to fundamentally disagree on how to combat disease, climate change, cryptocurrency, and the significance of space flight.

This is where the conflict between Gates and Musk first started, and it is where it has continued ever since. Let’s take a look!

In 2020, Gates and Musk’s relationship first started to fray. At the time, both of them were striving to combat the coronavirus; Musk was sourcing and producing ventilators, while Gates donated hundreds of millions of dollars to do so. In addition, Musk collaborated with the German biotech company CureVac, in which Bill Gates is an investor, to develop a device that would help in the development of vaccines.

Musk, though, was as vocal in his criticism of stay-at-home orders and in his repeated downplaying of the virus’s seriousness. He had questioned statistics on coronavirus mortality and wrongly claimed that youngsters are immune to the coronavirus. He had also pushed the malaria medicine hydroxychloroquine as a treatment.

With reference to the virus, Gates was not pleased with Musk’s actions. Elon’s strategy is to continue making controversial remarks at a high volume. Gates stated on CNBC’s Squawk Box, “I hope he doesn’t get too mixed up in things that he’s not involved in.

Musk was offended by the remarks, so in retaliation he made fun of Gates on Twitter. Bill Gates is not my lover, and the rumor that I am in a relationship with Bill Gates is untrue, he sarcastically wrote in a number of tweets regarding Gates.

Musk defended his participation in coronavirus relief efforts in a September 2020 podcast interview with The New York Times. Musk stated, “Gates mentioned something about my not knowing what I was doing. The message is something along the lines of, “Hey, knucklehead, we actually build the vaccine equipment for CureVac, the company you’re invested in.”
But it also appears that climate change, specifically how much of an impact Tesla has on cutting emissions and benefiting the environment, is a key source of conflict between Gates and Musk.

Gates claimed in a 2020 interview with YouTuber Marques Brownlee that he had recently purchased a Porsche Taycan, a different electric car, despite the fact that Tesla had aided in advancing innovation and adoption of electric automobiles. identical to the electric vehicle Bill Gates purchased, the 2022 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo Turbo S.
