A major federal law enforcement surge in Chicago has led to nearly 180 defendants charged across 140 cases, hundreds of fugitives apprehended, and multiple children safely reunited with their families.
Officials say the multi-agency operation, involving 11 federal and local partners, is part of a coordinated effort to target violent offenders and reduce crime across the city. The initiative, dubbed “Operation New Dawn,” focuses on removing repeat offenders from the streets and strengthening public safety.
